“The Queen of Spades” is the sole owner and proprietor of The Gamblers League and oversees all activities of the league “from a distance.” Our Regional Director, The Gambler, came to the middle TN area in 2008 and began playing Texas Hold ‘Em as a past time. He played at several different venues in the area and soon found his passion for the game. While playing league style Texas Hold ‘Em he discovered a big difference in the way games were run by different leagues. The Gambler joined one particular league because he liked the structure of that league. When the opportunity arose to acquire that league The Gambler conveyed this information to “The Queen of Spades”, who quickly determined this league would be a good investment. To show her appreciation to The Gambler for bringing this opportunity to her, “The Queen of Spades” honored The Gambler by naming the league The Gamblers League.
The Gamblers League is free to join – members benefit from the provision of free statistical analysis of their gaming skills and ranking on a nightly basis. All levels of skill are welcome to enjoy gaming in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Those that have never played Texas Hold ‘Em before are given tools to assist them so that they are able to learn the basic principles of the game.
Tournaments are held at bars and restaurants throughout the Nashville area. The league is careful to select locations that are conducive to a gaming environment, yet are upstanding establishments that provide excellent food, drinks and/or service. Our venues benefit from our players patronage to boost their sales and we encourage our players to support these venues so that we may continue to play in their house!
At each tournament, members are informed that the games will be played according to the rules and regulations of the World Series of Poker & Robert’s Rules of Poker. Money is never allowed to be on the table at any time. Members are often offered an incentive of extra poker chips for signing up early, bringing a new player along with them or a venue offered special. There are typically two tournaments held each night that we play in a particular venue.
